About Greg Benz

I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Minneapolis.  My style has developed with 10 years of experience.  I first picked up the camera in a serious way back in 2000 when I was living in London.  My interest in documenting my travels quickly turned into a love for photography.  I've never received formal training in photography, I've developed my style and technique through working with numerous other photographers, reading every book and magazine I can get my hands on, and shooting literally hundreds of thousands of photographs.  I would define my artistic style as focused on telling personal stories with the use of dramatic lines and light.

Thank you for checking out my work!,

Congratulations Christy & Eric!

After my first vineyard wedding, I thought I shouldn’t waste anytime… so I flew out to California for this very special wedding…  I also did the engagement portraits and Christy asked me to print 12 8×10’s to put on display in an art room at the reception, which was a first and a great honor for me.  The sparkler sendoff was a first for me too (and an interesting technical challenge from a lighting perspective).  Congratulations to Christy and Eric!!

October 4, 2009 - 10:59 pm Noureen - Congrats Christina. Looks like everyone had a great time. Wishing you all the best with your new love partner.

Congratulations Holly & Brady!

I’ve shot several weddings this year, to make sure I’d be ready for this one (my first solo).  Weddings already feel pretty comfortable, but when I agreed to shoot my friend Holly’s wedding, I knew I’d better be on my game – not only was it my first wedding, with no assistant, and in full sun with almost no places for shade, but Holly is also a wedding photographer.  The venue was interesting, as it’s a Minnesota Vineyard (Falconer’s Vineyard).   You can tell from the photos that they’ve got a very fun and laid back sense of humor, and we had a great time.  Congratulations you two!
