About Greg Benz

I am a wedding and portrait photographer based in Minneapolis.  My
style has developed with 10 years of experience.  I first picked up the
camera in a serious way back in 2000 when I was living in London.  My
interest in documenting my travels quickly turned into a love for
photography.  I've never received formal training in photography.  My
education has come from working with numerous other photographers, reading every book and magazine I can get my hands on, and shooting literally hundreds of thousands of photographs.  I would define my artistic style as focused on telling personal stories with the use of dramatic lines and light.

Thank you for checking out my work!,

Ice and Happiness on the Slopes

I’ve had a few people comment that I hardly ever put any photos of myself up, so I thought I’d dig deep into the archives (that is, the roughly 10 photos I’ve taken of myself) to pull out this shot from a ski trip to Steamboat Springs a couple years ago (definitely old, since I haven’t had that goatee in a couple years).  It’s a self-portrait I did with my pocket digital camera while I was riding up the chair lift (you can see the camera in the reflection in my lens).  I remember thinking, how can I have ice frozen to my face and be completely comfortable at the same time?
