Frozen Minneapolis

Man was this a cold shot!  An hour of standing around on a night when it was about 5 degrees with a breeze, and I was kneeling in snow to set up the camera.  Thankfully I had a hat, ski jacket, sweater, double layer gloves (fingerless for warmth and thin gloves underneath so I could work the camera), a scarf, and long underwear.  My fingers were on fire when they got back in the warmth!

In this picture from left to right, the buildings are Target Plaza (blue rim), IDS Center (white flat line across the top), Wells Fargo (orange), AT&T (looks like asparagus in the daylight), and 225 S. Sixth (with the halo).  The square in the center is Orchestra Hall and Peavy Plaza bordered by Nicollet Ave on the left (with the holiday lights).

Jacob - What a beautiful photo. Minneapolis has changed a little bit since I went to high school there in 1954!

Still get nostalgic seeing the old girl, though.

Anne - I haven’t been back to Minnesota in nearly 10 years now, but your photos always bring back such wonderful memories. They are just gorgeous, especially your outdoor and city scenes. Thanks so much for sharing these!
