About Me

I'm a Twin Cities (Minneapolis) based photographer with a passion for portraiture and urban skyscapes.  I pride myself on being a bit of an eclectic who takes an interest in all manner of people and places and travel a fair bit, so I try to include other elements of my work into my blog.  My work tends to use a modern style with a mind toward drawing out the edges in life.  I draw inspiration in my portraiture from Greg Gorman, Herb Ritts, Platon, and a handful of other masters of the art.

Whether your a new fan or an old friend, please be sure to leave a comment or drop me a line, I appreciate the feedback or just knowing who I'm reaching on the web.  Thanks for checking out my work!

Thanks!,

>>>The Amalfi Coast>>>

Amalfi

I was lucky enough to go on a trip to Italy, Spain, and Portugal recently… so I’ll be posting some pics from that trip over the next few days. Pictured here is the beautiful seaside town of Amalfi, which is the center of what is known as the Amalfi Coast near Naples (Napoli), Sorrento, and Capri. This area produces tons of lemons, which are used to make “Limoncello“, a popular sweet liqueur.

Technique:  5 shots combined via HDR.  The traffic trails worked really nicely here, no need for post editing (I often have to fix odd colors when there is a headlight in one image and not another).  Just added a little sharpening and vignette.  The balcony (shot from my hotel room) is intentionally included as I like how it reminds me of my beautiful view, as well as being a very difficult location to find a reasonable crop that did not include that balcony.

June 2, 2008 - 1:36 am Bogusia - absolutely breathtaking! this photo is great it makes me want to be here!

June 2, 2008 - 5:06 am June - Whew! You put a lot of effort into this one...but very much worth it. Did you happen to go to a little town called Gaeta? I was there once trying to hook up with my brother whose ship was stationed there.

June 3, 2008 - 5:23 am Jim K - This is a beautiful photograph.

June 5, 2008 - 9:53 pm Rob - Fabulous photo. I have not tried a 5 shot HDR, then again, I am new to HDR photography. OI am finding at times the very dark areas produce way too much noise for my liking. More expermentation. Anyway, how was the authentic lemoncello? My sister-in-law up here in the north metro makes her homemade version of lemoncello.
